Halfway Tie Day: September 17, 2012

(This letter and these pictures arrived today in the US Mail.  They only took 11 days to get here.  I hope he will be able to send photos via email when he gets out in the field; the scanned quality is not the greatest.--Marie)

Hi Guys!

So I tried one of those cinnamon rolls today and they are divine!  Thank you again!!

To explain Halfway Tie Day: On the halfway day at the CTM, you wear your tie halfway, as in it is super short! It was really fun.

Next week (from the time this letter was written) we get (finally) 8 more missionaries going to Londrina! (At least one is a sister!) So we will no longer be all alone at the CTM.

One day another teacher came in and was asking our Brazilian teacher who the soccer player was who has a Mohawk (all this in Portuguese, by the way) and he didn’t know, but I did! It was Neymar, the most famous Brazilian soccer player pretty much. I felt pretty dope after that! Also, this past week while I was chatting with Brazilians they told me I have good pronunciation! J That made me feel good.

Hope you like the photos!
Love,
Elder Cummings
This is my double halfway tie!  Me and S. took the halfway tie to a whole new level (by tying two ties together--Marie). (It looks weird on the halfway tie photos because I put it on vivid so the ties would stand out. We are not sunburned. We are pasty white, actually.)

The halfway tie district!

 Showing off the double tie.

My hand for scale to show how small the tie is and how big the knot is!!

My new super cool Brazilian roommates, Elder S. from Sao Paulo and Elder B. from Porto Alegre.  These guys are super cool!

  1. I confess, I cried yesterday when I saw these pictures. It was good to see my son's face. I'm writing his letter right now, and had to come peek again. Thanks soooooo much for sharing!
